Buddha’s Mirror and Nagarjuna’s Book of Wisdom : Lam Rim Force For Good with Robert AF Thurman
In this short video Professor Robert AF Thurman discusses the reflective nature of Buddhist Mind training methods found within the “Lam Rim: Stages of the Path” collection of teachings and Nagarjuna’s book of wisdom.
“A Buddhist society like ancient Tibet was fully Buddhist- mainstream Buddhist. It doesn’t mean everybody is perfect but in such a society it is acknowledged that humans- the most important thing that they do in life, is learn to transform themselves, flourish and evolve.
Productivity for the collective is important, but not the most important because there is abundance on earth if it is not abused. The earth provides enough for everybody. If it’s not abused and if people don’t hoard and don’t overdo…there is enough. The plants love us. They bring us oxygen, everything. A human being only needs to have bled out of their deep heart the basic love that has made them human & the ethics and the sensitivity to others and the ability to imagine that they are the other: To empathize.”
