November 3 at Tibet House US
The definition of “equanimity” is mental calmness and evenness of temper, especially in difficult situations.
Maintaining a peaceful mind in the face of stress and unpleasantness is a skill that benefits you and others. Ultimately, a mind centered in equanimity enables less suffering within ourselves and strategically avoids adding more distress to the world. In this talk and guided meditation, Khen Rinpoche will help us both identify negative emotions when they arise and recognize such emotions as valuable opportunities to change our relationship to upsetting circumstances. His teaching draws on texts from Shantideva and Chandrakirti and elucidates a profound, liberating method for transforming negative emotions.
