On behalf of the family of Pawo Lobga Rangzen, we call on all Tibetans, friends, and supporters of Tibet to gather in mourning, prayer, and remembrance for a beloved friend, Tibetan martyr, steadfast patriot, and fearless advocate for Tibetan independence.
On July 2, 2026, at 5:49 pm, Pawo Lobga Rangzen died after self-immolating in front of the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
He carried an unwavering love for Tibet and could not accept a world that looks away while Tibetans inside occupied Tibet are denied freedom, dignity, religious expression, language, and the right to determine their own future.
The cremation service will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026. The family invites all Tibetans, friends, and supporters to join the prayer service and cremation, pay their final respects, and offer prayers for Pawo Lobga Rangzen’s journey.
