The Art of Freedom Award was created in 1998 to honor individuals whose outstanding contributions reflect the efforts of Tibet House US’ mission to promote and preserve Tibet’s precious culture. This year’s recipients are renowned, creative pioneer Laurie Anderson, and beloved actress, Uma Thurman.
Previous recipients include Melissa Mathison Ford, Patti Smith, Philip Glass, Marylin Rhie, Roy Lichtenstein, Trudie Styler, Martin Scorsese, and Thupten Jinpa.
