Tenzin Choegyal & Martha Mooke at the Art of Freedom Gala

A special live performance at the Art of Freedom Award Presentation & Gala Dinner

We’re thrilled to welcome back Tenzin Choegyal, who has graced our Benefit Concert stage for many years, for a special performance at this year’s Art of Freedom Gala. He’ll be joined by Grammy Award-winning violist and composer Martha Mooke, founder of the Scorchio Quartet.

Tenzin Choegyal is a Grammy-nominated Tibetan musician, composer, and cultural ambassador whose work bridges traditional Tibetan music with contemporary sounds. Raised in exile in Dharamshala, India, and now based in Australia, he has collaborated with Philip Glass, Laurie Anderson, and Patti Smith, and founded Brisbane’s annual Festival of Tibet.

Martha Mooke is a Grammy Award-winning violist/composer lauded for her innovative educational programs. Founder of the Scorchio Quartet (David Bowie’s Heathen, Trey Anastasio’s Live From Princeton, Carla Patullo’s Grammy-winning So She Howls), she has collaborated with Philip Glass and is featured on Laurie Anderson’s new album, Amelia.
