Join us for a free 20-minute gentleness meditation on Valentine’s Day, guided by Elizabeth Pyjov.

Monday, February 14 | 12:00 – 12:20pm ET | Free | Live-streamed via Zoom

This Valentine’s Day, let’s open the heart to gentleness. Elizabeth Pyjov will guide a free midday meditation of mindfulness, compassion, and self-compassion. The meditation is over Zoom so anyone can join from every corner of the world. Together we will meditate and open to a more loving heart. All the heart wants is to gently open and connect. Let’s gather in community and cultivate this beautiful quality at noon on February 14th.

* Please consider making a donation to help us continue offering accessible meditation practices to our community.

Elizabeth Pyjov, JD, MTS is a scholar, theologian, lawyer, and published poet who holds three Harvard degrees, speaks five languages, and has taught over 30 different meditation programs at Tibet House US.

She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a degree in Romance Languages and Literatures and the Classics. In 2020 she completed a J.D. at Harvard Law School and an MTS in Buddhist Studies at Harvard Divinity School.

Elizabeth studied the neuroscience, philosophy, and pedagogy of compassion at Stanford Medical School at the Stanford Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE). Since then, she has taught compassion meditation at Stanford University, Harvard University, Harvard Law School, Columbia University, Columbia Law School, Columbia Medical School, NYU Medical School, Novartis, Deutsche Bank, Warby Parker, the Rubin Museum, and Horace Mann, among other places.

Elizabeth has worked for the NY Attorney General’s Office, the Global Justice Center, and Click Therapeutics in New York City; for Italian television at RAI International in Rome; for the United Nations in Geneva; and at the Stanford Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE) in Palo Alto, CA. She has worked or studied in Argentina, France, Italy, Peru, Spain, Switzerland, and Russia. Her international experience has led her to understand that among those of different traditions, customs, and religions, people find happiness in many of the same ways. They want to be healthy, do meaningful work, and be close to loved ones—and what brings joy is practicing compassion, self-kindness and deep awareness.

For the past decade, Elizabeth has been designing programs which are practice-based and integrate science, several contemplative traditions, and wisdom from many ages and cultures. She teaches compassion meditation, happiness, religion, and meaning of life classes to groups over Zoom. She also has a small private practice which includes celebrities. Teaching compassion meditation is the biggest privilege of her life. You can reach Elizabeth at epyjov@jd20.law.harvard.edu.
