We are made up of at least 70% water, and as the Moon affects the tides of the oceans, so it affects our moods and physical experience. These monthly sessions will assist us as we tune into the seasonal and physical effects of each specific moon cycle, and to encourage the therapeutic opportunity for the body’s meridian system to respond to sound frequencies. Sound healing as a tool to stimulate blocked meridians is mentioned in The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine, a seminal text in traditional Chinese medicine. Similar to acupuncture, certain resonances of sound have the potential to affect and stimulate specific organs, reactivate stagnant energy, and help restore vitality and flow.
This ongoing series of sound baths, guided by Phil Jacobs, takes place each month on the Monday closest to the full moon. The May 2022 gathering will take place on the 16th, which is the same day as the full Flower Moon, as well as a total lunar eclipse for most of North America (also referred to as a “Blood Moon”).
